I have been part of the Grand Rapids community throughout my entire life.  I graduated from Hope College with an undergraduate Social Work degree and spent time working with local mental health and substance abuse non-profit organizations. Despite the challenges of this work, my passion for this helping profession and the humans beings I encountered was solidified. I completed my graduate degree in Social Work through Grand Valley State University in 2008.

As I continued to work and grow as a therapist, I discovered the personal benefits of yoga in my own life and wanted to learn more about how it could be used in a therapeutic setting.  I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2015 to begin offering mindful movement, mindfulness, and other useful techniques in my work as a therapist.

I have since had the honor of co-facilitating trauma-informed yoga teacher trainings and proudly completed my 300-hour RYT certification.  Combining the benefits of both traditional “talk therapy” with the less-conventional body-based therapy, has been exciting for me professionally and truly effective for my clients.

Currently, I offer individual therapy sessions, either focused on “talk therapy”, body-based therapy, or a combination of both, depending on your preference.  Click here to learn more about group and individual therapy offerings.

Life can be challenging, to be sure.  Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, mood swings, fear, anger, or trauma, healing is possible. I believe in partnering with you, meeting you where you are in your growth rather than asking you to fix or change who you are. My goal is to offer you acceptance, reflection and insight, and to teach new tools that help you move through whatever keeps you stuck. May you feel empowered to overcome life’s challenges and become your most truest, genuine version of yourself!
